CLIC Startup Competition 2020

CLIC Startup Competition supports and awards the best business ideas and startups in the field of cultural heritage adaptive reuse inspired to the circular economy principles.

The Competition is aimed at supporting on the ground early-stage startups, informal teams and talented innovators

This is your unique chance to interact with experts, promote their business ideas to public and private investors, accelerate and put them on the right track to start their business.

The purpose of the Startup Competition is to award with four months of free mentorship the 5 best innovative and promising projects working on – but not limited to – these key areas:

  • Cultural, safe and sustainable tourism
  • Creative, cultural, education and entertainment industries
  • Heritage community, social innovation and ethical finance
  • Technologies and materials for the circular city and building
  • Abandoned cultural landscapes regeneration

Competition overview

  • Preselection

Applicants will have an online interview with an independent referee to evaluate their commitment, their skills and the overall readiness and time to market.

On 16th October, once closed the call, an online poll will be launched on CLIC Facebook page to vote the most brilliant idea.

The best 20 proposals will be admitted to the Pitch Competition and will take part in the 3 days event in Naples from 25th to 27th November 2020.

  • Living Lab

The event will start with a Living Lab on 25th November, a unique occasion to bring together startuppers, experts, researchers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors to work together on innovative creative entrepreneurship.

The aim is to identify business models and solutions able to positively impact on cultural heritage and rural landscape.

  • Pitch competition

On 26th November, the innovators will get into the ring. The 20 finalist teams will have 36 hours to better define their business model and their pitch supported by business and startups experts.

On November 27th afternoon, the teams will present their Business Pitch to a qualified Jury, composed by international experts, entrepreneurs, public and private investors, which will identify the 5 winners, announced during the closing ceremony.

Seize the opportunity: the best idea can be yours!

The 5 most voted projects will access a mentoring and acceleration programme provided by Iniziativa Cube, a CLIC partner, to enhance the readiness level of their business ideas.

The mentoring and acceleration services, worth 15,000 Euro, will take place from December 2020 to March 2021 and can be followed both physically and remotely.

Winners will be supported in fine-tuning their business model, drawing up their business plan, investors’ scouting for fundraising.
