Overview:

Chinaccelerator is a mentorship-driven program that assists internet startups from across the world.

It is operated by the venture fund SOSV, which has $700M+ AUM and operates 5 global accelerators.

Who can apply?

Chinaccelerator is looking for specific businesses to benefit from the program to the fullest. You can figure out if you would be a good fit by answering these questions.

Investment:

Chinaccelerator offers $150,000 investment

Our fund SOSV takes 6% common equity for the accelerator program through a Stock Purchase Agreement (SPA). We invest through a convertible instrument called an Accelerator Contract for Equity (ACE) similar to a SAFE.

Of this US$100,000, US$45,000 will be attributed to the cost of the program, and the remaining US$55,000 will be cash investment. Most of the companies usually qualify for additional US $50,000 from Chinaccelerator’s syndicate partner.

Program duration:

In a six-month program, we work with startups and help them find product-market fit, get clients, and monetize in the context of China and Asia.

The program is divided into two parts:

• 3-month growth phase
• 3-month fundraising phase based on the different focuses

During the growth phase, Chinaccelerator sets up OKRs with startups and weekly check-ins will also be conducted to discuss company strategy, experiments, and growth tactics.

Startups will be interacting with mentors, Expert In Residence as well as the Chinaccelerator team, regularly.

Demo Day will be held before entering the fundraising phase with 150+ investors.

During and after the program, you will be having 1-1 support from 300+ mentors from across China, South East Asia, the US, and Europe. Leaders and experts in different fields will be giving you insights for startups, ultimately saving you time and money.

Chinaccelerator also has 8 Experts-in-Residence (EIRs) that provide deep expertise in key fields, including:

• Space:

We provide our startups with free co-working space during the 6-month program at People Squared near Jing’an Temple, the heart of Shanghai.

• Perks:

All startup will have access to perks valued at $2,160,000. This access is provided through the Global Accelerator Network, SOSV Community, or directly negotiated by the Chinaccelerator team. Weekly workshops will also be held

Program timeline:

• Phase 0: Onboarding! get ready to rock from Day 1.
• Phase 1: Adjust product and market fit through rapid iteration.
• Phase 2: User acquisition through AB testing across multiple channels.
• Phase 3: Build traction and prepare for demo day and fundraising.
• Phase 4+: Continuous support for fundraising and access to an alumni network of 680 startups worldwide.

If your company passes the first round of screening, you will be contacted you for further interviews and meetings and move to the decision stage.
